Board Chair
Kyle Serrette is the National Education Campaign Manager at the National Education Association. In this role, Kyle directs the work of the Campaign to Promote, Protect, and Strengthen Public Education.
Kyle Serrette started his career as a Chemistry teacher in Massachusetts and then went on to serve in various leadership roles, including the organizing director for AFSCME’s nurses’ union, the campaign director for SEIU’s campaign to organize airport and security workers, the organizing director for Change to Win’s Retail division, and the Education Justice Campaign Director at the Center for Popular Democracy. He is one of the founders of the Alliance to Reclaim our Schools, the Partnership for Future of Learning, and the California State Community School Transformation Center.
Kyle currently serves as Chair of the Schott Foundation board and serves on the Advisory Board of The Center for Innovation in Worker Organization (CIWO) at Rutgers. Since joining NEA, he has supported NEA affiliates and partners in building education justice campaigns to win various professional excellence policies, including Community Schools. Kyle helped oversee the launch of NEA Community Schools Institute. With over $4 billion in public dollars (federal and state) dedicated to the Community Schools strategy, NEA has become one of the largest Community School technical assistance providers in the United States. Kyle has over 20 years of organizing, policy, and campaign management experience.
