Schott Foundation Applauds Dr. Gail Christopher Appointment

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Quincy, MA –The Schott Foundation congratulates Dr. Gail Christopher as she assumes leadership of the National Collaborative for Health Equity (NCHE). Dr. Christopher, former vice president and senior advisor at the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, is a long-time philanthropic partner whose vision, tenacity, and leadership have made major contributions to growing the movement for racial justice.

“Dr. Christopher has a deep understanding of the complex ecosystem that creates difficult hurdles for children and families of color,” said Dr. John Jackson, Schott’s President and CEO. “Inequitable outcomes in health, education, employment, and many other realities in low-income communities are deeply interrelated, and only systemic approaches to address racism can yield comprehensive solutions. We are eager to continue our collaboration with Dr. Christopher in her new role as executive director of NCHE.”

In 2011 the Schott Foundation honored Dr. Christopher with the Change Agent Award at its Hot Schott Awards Gala in Washington, D.C.

The Schott Foundation is a national public fund serving as a bridge between philanthropic partners and advocates to build movements to provide all students an opportunity to learn.
