Schott Foundation Promotes Diana Tate Vermeire to Executive Vice President

The Schott Foundation for Public Education is pleased to announce the promotion of Diana Tate Vermeire to the position of Executive Vice President. Diana has previously served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and has been a key driver of the foundation’s strategic initiatives and growth.

In her new role as Executive Vice President, Diana will take on expanded responsibilities, including managing senior vice presidents and the executive leadership team, and providing organization-wide support to drive achievement of foundation goals.

“Diana has been instrumental in shaping our strategic direction and driving significant growth,” said John H. Jackson, Schott’s President and CEO. “Diana’s strategic-thinking, skillset, and leadership make her the perfect fit for this role. We are confident that Diana will continue to lead the foundation’s effort to resource racial and education justice organizations to new heights.”

Diana joined the Schott Foundation after serving as a University Diversity Officer and the Vice President for Inclusive Excellence at California State University – Sacramento. Throughout her career, Diana has worked to safeguard civil rights with a focus on racial justice, particularly as it relates to access to education, criminal justice reform, and removal of barriers to civic engagement. Diana has also served as Director of the Racial Justice Initiative at the ACLU of Northern California, managing campaigns related to voting rights, K-12 education, the school-to-prison pipeline, and policing on campuses. While a staff attorney for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area, Diana supervised their Education Equity Project.

Diana has a B.A in Sociology from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
