The Schott Foundation’s core belief is that a broad-based grassroots movement is central to creating the systemic change that is needed to address the disparities poor children and children of color face in our nation’s public education system.

To help build this movement, Schott provides grants and other supports to campaigns led by parents, students and other advocates seeking to bring equity to the following issue areas:

In its pivotal role as both funder and advocate, Schott has supported strategies such as media campaigns, community organizing, litigation, leadership development, ballot initiatives and action research to build public will to guarantee that every child has access to high quality public education.

Boston Education Justice Alliance (BEJA) works for sustainable community schools led by the voices of young people, teachers, families, and the community.
Black Swan Academy
The Black Swan Academy is a non-profit organization in the District of Columbia that empowers black youth in under-served communities through civic leadership and engagement, giving them a comprehensive set of tools needed to succeed in life and become active social catalyst in their communities. We are committed to creating a pipeline of Black youth leaders that are committed to improving self, as well as their communities.
Brockton Interfaith Community
Brockton Interfaith Community is a multi-faith organization working for peace and justice for all people through community organizing.
Camden Parent Union
Camden Parent Union is a group of concerned Camden parents, care givers and guardians that work diligently advocating for better education, safer schools, equal funding, maximum resources and inclusion in any decisions that are made for our children’s education.
