The Schott Foundation’s core belief is that a broad-based grassroots movement is central to creating the systemic change that is needed to address the disparities poor children and children of color face in our nation’s public education system.

To help build this movement, Schott provides grants and other supports to campaigns led by parents, students and other advocates seeking to bring equity to the following issue areas:

In its pivotal role as both funder and advocate, Schott has supported strategies such as media campaigns, community organizing, litigation, leadership development, ballot initiatives and action research to build public will to guarantee that every child has access to high quality public education.

Early Care & Learning Council
The mission of the Early Care & Learning Council (ECLC) is to promote excellence in early care and education with equal access for all families. ECLC does this primarily through the support of and in partnership with a strong network of community-based organizations that provide Child Care Resource and Referral services.
Economic Policy Institute
The Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank created in 1986 to include the needs of low- and middle-income workers in economic policy discussions.
Education Opportunity Network / People's Action Institute
The Education Opportunity Network serves a growing public education movement by sharing provocative information, analysis, and opportunities for action — and by linking educators in the trenches, students, parents, community leaders, education experts, and progressive activists who know education is crucial to the fight for democracy and economic progress.
Education Voters of Pennsylvania
Education Voters Pennsylvania works to ensure our political leaders adopt and implement a pro-public education agenda. Ed Voters PA holds political leaders accountable if they fail to do so and supports elected officials who lead the way to high quality public education.
Education Week
Education Week is a national newspaper focusing on K-12 education policy. Serving as a bridge between the worlds of policy and practice, Education Week is now recognized as "American education’s newspaper of record."
