A new report by the Open Society Foundations (OSF) and the Foundation Center is a must-read for anyone who cares about the rectifying the disparities in our society that impact boys and young men of color.
"Building a Beloved Community: Strengthening the Field of Black Male Achievement" maps out the field of philanthropy, nonprofit organizations, research and government programs that work to provide and advocate for better resources and opportunities in the field of racial justice. It also offers key recommendations to strengthen that important work from engaging social media platforms to investing in holistic, systemic solutions to building leadership at both the grasstops and grassroots levels.
OSF has been a leader in this field and in supporting multi-pronged approaches to addressing barriers and opportunities for black boys and young men. Wherever you enter into this work, we hope you will take a few minutes to read the report and share it. The OTL Campaign and the Schott Foundation for Public Education are honored to be a part of this Beloved Community. We tip our hats to the OSF leadership, particularly Shawn Dove and Rashid Shabazz, who have been so instrumental in moving this work forward.
