No Need to Worry When You Flunk the StudentsFirst Test!

In Fact, Here's a Badge for Sticking Up for Equity in Education!

And the Opportunity to Learn Badge of Honor Goes To... YOU!

Last week, Michelle Rhee's pro-privatization lobbying group StudentsFirst released a 50-state report card that left us appalled. Rather than measure states based on students' well-being or achievement, the "report" assigned states a letter grade based on their adherence to StudentsFirst policies like high-stakes testing, value-added measures in teacher evaluations, merit pay, and support for charter schools.

Needless to say, some states that we think are beginning to take the right steps to ensuring equity and opportunity for their students (like California) flunked the StudentsFirst test.

So hats off to California's chief deputy superintendent Richard Zeiger for standing up to the likes of StudentsFirst and calling his state's F rating a "badge of honor."

We thought that was such a good idea, we've created a badge that every education advocate can display to show that students deserve better than what privatizers like Michelle Rhee and StudentsFirst have to offer.

And don't miss our 5-point takedown of the StudentsFirst report here. Read it, share it, and get the word out!
