Andrea Garvey joined the Schott Foundation for Public Education in January of 2011. As the Operations and Grants Manager, Andrea supports the Programs, Development and Operations teams, with the overall responsibility for coordinating and integrating pertinent information related to the organization in furtherance of our growth and development. To that end, she is responsible for managing and providing technical support for the foundation’s new comprehensive database, Blackbaud’s Raisers’ Edge. Additionally, Andrea assists the Communications team with updating the Foundation’s websites and social media outlets, and produces the biweekly Snap Schott newsletter. Andrea sits in the Programs Area.

Before joining Schott, Andrea was an Editorial Assistant with the journal Nature Chemical Biology for four years. There she managed the flow of manuscripts from submission to publication, provided technical support to editors and authors, and compiled citation statistics.

Andrea earned a Bachelor’s degree from Emerson College and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. Andrea has volunteered with Reach Out and Read, Boston Public Schools, Newton Free Library, and San Juan del Sur Biblioteca in Nicagagua.
