Jabes Rojas joins Schott Foundation

The Schott Foundation is pleased to welcome Jabes Rojas as its new Development Manager charged with expanding Schott’s philanthropic partnerships nationally, particularly within the corporate community. Jabes’ experience and expertise in philanthropy are a great addition to the Schott team and will increase and diversify the partnerships in our collaborative endeavors to develop and strengthen a broad-based and representative movement to achieve fully resourced, high quality preK-12 public education and to provide all students an opportunity to learn.

Jabes has a stellar track record of nearly ten years weaving together the key goals of top companies with the unique goals of nonprofits to produce innovative partnerships around win-win initiatives. Jabes believes that nonprofits and major companies can, indeed, create and maintain long-term strategic partnerships to deliver real value for their bottom lines and stakeholders while improving society.

Jabes recently led the nationwide corporate partnerships program for the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA), an organization that partners with Fortune 500 Companies to recruit, retain and develop the pipeline of top Latino business talent. During the three and a half years leading ALPFA’s national fundraising infrastructure, Jabes strategic leadership enabled ALPFA to raise over $10M in total contributions from hundreds of companies to achieve its mission.

Prior to joining ALPFA, Jabes worked at John Hancock’s Office of Community Relations as Senior Manager of Contributions for three years leading the company’s nationwide funding of nonprofits and managing the company’s employee matching gifts program. Earlier in his career, Jabes also worked at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care as Senior Grants Associate for nearly three years overseeing the application and funding process for nonprofits.

Jabes has a MBA degree from Boston College and a Master of Science from the London School of Economics as well as a BA from Brandeis University.  He was born in Guatemala, immigrated to Boston at 10 years old, and is a graduate of Boston Latin Academy. He and his wife reside in Boston’s North End neighborhood.
